Pitou 1715-1815, p. 544-5 : "Vestris, Marie-Françoise-Thérèse (b. 1726, Florence; d. 1808, Paris), dancer, arrived with her family in the French capital during 1747, and she was not long in finding a place in the ballet of the Opéra for two reasons: her brothers, Gaetano and Angiolo, danced at the Royal Academy of Music; the roster of her lovers included the ballet master at the Opéra, the famous singer Jélyotte, Mme de Pompadour's husband, the duke d'Orleans, and a host of other notables and nobles. Unfortunately, she is remembered more for her spectacular career as a courtesan than as a dancer, [… roles…] She withdrew from her career as a member of the ballet in 1766, but did not die until she was 82 years old."
