    Pitou 1715-1815, p. 155 : "ballerina, was a student of Favre before she made her first public appearance on the stage at the Ambigu-Comique about 1787. She entered the service of the Royal Academy of Music as a ballerina on 3 February 1790 and was promoted to the rank of première danseuse at the Opéra in 1792. She reached the summit of her career during the height of Napoleon's power despite her decision to retire in 1804 because the public called for her return to the stage, and she obliged them by resuming her appearances at the Imperial Academy of Music.
