Robin Thurlow Lacy, A biographical dictionary of scenographers, p. 178 : "Painter (1588 – 1661) and student of J. de Bellange. After a trip to Italy, he returned to Nancy and served as festival director following his teacher in that position. In 1663 he went to Paris and made paintings for Cardinal Richelieu. One painting, that representing the triumphal entree of Anne of Austria illustrates the designs this artist made for that pageant."
