Pitou 1715-1815, p. 78-9: "Bouquier, Gqbriel (b. 1750, Dordogne; d. 1811, Dordogne), librettist, had a fleeting career in the musical theatre: he wrote an Epître à M. Vernet as early as 1775, but his only contribution to the Opéra was La réunion du 10 août, done on 5 April 1794, when Bouquier was in Paris representing his department at the National Convention, His collaborator in this monstrosity was Philippe Moline, a secretary-clerk attached to the Convention. Bouquier returned home to paint and write other things after this 'sans-culottide dramatique' in five incredible acts supercharged with melodramatic symbolism and ending in the roar of artillery."
